24 March 2019 was indeed a historic day for the Province of Guwahati as new mission centre was opened in Jharmari, Punjab under Shimla-Chandigarh Diocese with the collaboration of the Salesian fathers of Delhi Province. The newly built convent was inaugurated by Fr. Jose Mathew SDB, the Provincial of Delhi and Sr. Mary Thadavanal, the Provincial Superior in the presence of Sr. Rose Thomas, Vice Provincial, Sr. Ancy John, Councillor for Social Apostolate,  the Salesian Fathers, religious from the neighbouring communities, friends and  well-wishers.

The province and the community in particular remain indebted to Fr. Jose Mathew sdb and his team, as well as to the Salesian fathers of Jharmari – Fr. Binny Isaac, Fr. Eldefonce Kujur, Fr. Odil Tete and Fr. Sajin Varghese for providing a well-furnished convent for the Sisters. The convent is named after St. Joseph, one of the patron saints of the Congregation. It is a great opportunity for the MSMHC to render service and to collaborate in the educative mission of the Church. The pioneers are Sr. Kusum Vandhna Toppo, Sr. Sini Anthony and Sr. Iaidalyne Warlarpih.  May God bless their every effort in witnessing Christ in this mission land.
